You will find them in the set of help links on this page, and the same set appears on every other page, so you never have to search for them.
These are the only outbound links on the whole site that are not commercial. Unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking, they are set to nofollow, and they open in a separate tab on the organisations' own websites. This site receives nothing when you follow one of them.
Budget
Decide the amount before you start, not once you are already playing. A figure chosen with a clear head is far easier to respect than one negotiated in the middle of a losing run.
Treat that amount as already spent, the way you would treat the price of a concert ticket. If you expect nothing back, a loss stays within what you planned, and any win is a pleasant surprise rather than a reason to keep going.
Keep gambling out of borrowed money entirely. Credit and loans turn a session's loss into a debt that keeps costing you long after the game ends, and that pressure is exactly what pushes people to play on.
Habits
Never chase a loss. Each bet is independent of the last, so raising stakes to win back what is gone usually only makes the hole deeper, and the urge to recover money is a warning sign in itself.
Take regular breaks away from the screen. Time passes quickly during play, and stepping away gives you a chance to notice how long you have been at it and how much has gone.
Involve someone else early when gambling stops feeling like entertainment. Talking to a person you trust, or to one of the organisations listed above, is easier before the problem grows, and an outside view often spots changes you have missed.
